Weber 14" Smokey Joe

Small enough to take with you, pretty much anywhere, with the ability to grill up just about anything. Good times and food await you in this small package.

  • This grill is good for about 3-4 people. Much more than that and you can't maintain temperature and airflow properly to get a good cook.
  • The airflow in this grill makes it hard to do offset cooking with the coals to one side. It performs much better with the coals directly in the center in a tight stack. I have not tried any air diversion methods on the fire grate yet. Maybe channeling the air to the side-loaded coals may help with this.
  • Do not skimp on the charcoal thinking you can get away with less on this tiny grill. You will still need at least 3/4 of a Weber Charcoal Chimney to maintain good cooking temperatures. I have only had one instance of starting a small amount of coals in a "Snake" method that actually came to temp (~275'F) for smoking a whole chicken. Otherwise, use a nearly full load of charcoal to get up to normal grilling temps (~325'F) and maintain it.
