Butt Rub

This goes well on smoked pork butts. Also chicken.
Ingredients
Mix the following in a quart jar:
- 1 cup Coarse Salt
- 1 cup Smoked Paprika
- 1/3 cup Coarse Ground Black Pepper
- 1/3 cup Garlic Powder
- 1/3 cup Onion Powder
- 1/3 cup Dark Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Turbinado Sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Thyme
- Red pepper flake (or your heat of choice) - OPTIONAL
Make it a sauce
- 1 cup of the dry rub above
- 1/2 cup (or more) Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 cups Vinegar
- 1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 cup water
- add more salt to taste, it will probably need it.
This sauce is best after sitting in the fridge for a few days letting all the flavors combine.
