The best porter I have made. I was in [https://ashevillebrewers.com/ Asheville Brewers Supply] many years ago (around 2011) and was tired of the "kits" of wacky recipes that I had been brewing. I asked the guy running the store that day (who was one of the master brewers at one of the long established local Asheville craft brew houses not one of the johnny-come-lately microbrew hipster hoints) for a basic recipe for a solid beer with some good body and flavor. He said "Make a porter." I said OK, got a recipe for it. Dude proceeds to pull out a scrap of paper and write from memory this legendary porter recipe. No frills, no crazy techniques, no hop experiments. Just a rock solid fantastic dark as night porter.
